HOW TUTORING WORKS

My goal is to help you/your child understand your/their course work, not simply get the homework done. I want everyone to succeed and enjoy math!

For our initial call: Let’s talk about the course you/your student is enrolled and current needs. We’ll discuss learning styles and my teaching style. If there is a match and availability, we will schedule an initial session.

After the initial session, I encourage parents to discuss privately with their child whether this is a good fit and if we should continue. We can then schedule additional sessions and create a regular schedule.

I will send notes to the parent about the session that include topics discussed, student’s mastery of topics, and any additional observations.

In-person sessions are scheduled for one hour or longer. Zoom or online sessions can be scheduled for 30 minutes or longer.

Once a tutoring session has been scheduled, it should only be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance – or in case of emergency - to not incur a cancelled session fee.
